The ELT for Financial Services program is offered by the Toronto District School Board and is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.  The objective of the program is to provide higher levels of language training to newcomers, so that they can gain Canadian work experience and secure paid employment that match their qualifications and expertise.  The goal is to help newcomers that have education and/or experience as a Financial Advisor, in a Bank at all levels including bank tellers and Insurance knowledge to achieve their full potential in Canada.  Training is provided to internationally-trained newcomers in several areas:

• Writing memos and reports
• Business language and etiquette
• Social interaction
• Meeting and presentation skills
• Job search skills
• Occupational specific language training

Through a voluntary placement of minimum six weeks, students will be working in their field where they will gain the Canadian work experience that is necessary for them to succeed.
