Message from GOA NJ: The Goan Association of New Jersey, Inc., established almost two decades ago in that State, is proud to bring to all Goans community on the East Coast of USA, a cultural event, which is the first ever presentation of a Konkani tiatr entitled ‘ADEUS' in the Tri-State area. This powerful drama of love and sacrifice is written and directed by Jr Menezes of Toronto, Canada. JR. Menezes has been involved in tiatr since his childhood, having written his first drama at the age of 13. Soon after immigrating to Canada, he presented his first tiatr in Toronto in 1989. In 1999, he performed with the "King" of Konkani Singer and Radio Star the late Alfred Rose, along with Rita Rose. He also directed four of M. Boyer's hit tiatr's, which were staged in Canada. "Adeus" will be performed first in Toronto on October 13, 2007, followed by a second performance on November 10, 2007, at the Parish Center of Our Lady of Peace Church, 1740 US Highway Route 130 North, North Brunswick, New Jersey, starting at 3:30 pm. The cast is comprised mainly of Canadian Goans, as well as Carmeline Barreto, Ron Pinto, Angelo Lobo and Miguel Barreto-Kepem from New Jersey, USA. Plus local Goans groups from Peekskill (Upstate NY), Long Island (New Yorker) and New Jersey, will keep the audience entertained during interval with their own presentations of Goan culture folk songs and etc. Thank you for your support and co-operation, if any question please email me.
