3 year-old Tommy is very ill. His mother, a devout Catholic, was grateful to receive the Novena prayer and picture of Bl. Joseph Vaz which we sent her when we learned of Tommy's serious condition and asks for your prayers. She has given her permission for us to post an account of what happened to Tommy. We ask all Goan and Sri Lankan readers and supporters of the canonization of Bl. Joseph Vaz to say the Bl. Joseph Vaz Novena prayer below for Tommy who was struck suddenly with a mysterious brain condition. This is to continue the Bl. Joseph Vaz Novena started for him last week when news of his very serious condition reached us. He was rushed to hospital because his eyes were rolling and he lost motor control. He lost balance and could not walk or use his arms in the normal way. The doctors have run many tests but cannot pinpoint the disease or the problem. The neurologists and doctors who have been treating him think that he got a viral infection in the brain which caused an inflammation in the brain.

"Heavenly Father, Your Son proved through wonders, how sensitive Your heart is towards those who are burdened with sorrow, sickness, and difficulties. Through the wonders Blessed Joseph Vaz worked both in his life and death, he trailed the same path to show forth that divine kindness and thus drew thousands to Christ. Therefore, we humbly beg of You to put your seal on his heroic life and move the Church to declare him as a model and saint. We plead, if it is Your will, to grant us a cure to young Tommy through his intercession."
