World Alliance of Goan Overseas Associations (WAGOA) in collaboration with IndologyGoa will organize a grand “ Non-Resident Goans Reunion Nite†at Mandovi Riviera, Panaji (Goa-India) on January 19 at 6.00 p.m. WAGOA is the parent body of all non-residents goans settled worldwide. “We still call Goa home†is the theme of the grand Inaugural Entertainment Nite where all resident goans and NRI goans will come together to share their concerns and happiness. Around 500 Non-Resident Goans (NRGs) will be attending this event. Dr. Edward Faleiro, NRI Commissioner will be the Chief Guest and Mr. J.P.Singh will be the Guest of Honour on this occasion. India’s most celebrated and by far Goa’s best musical troupe lead by guitarist Seby Pinto the “ Forefront†(www.forefrontgoa.com ) will perform a live concert on this occasion. Commissioner of NRI affairs in Goa Shri. Eduardo Faleiro will be the Guest of Honour for this grand celebration. A grand gala welcome cocktail-dinner and dancing to your hearts content to the music of Goa’s numero uno- Forefront, will be organized to celebrate this event. All the eminent personalities of Goa, including captains of Industries in Goa and India will grace this grand celebration. The entire proceed of this event will be donated to Goan Charities involved in Humanitarian services. WAGOA in association with IndologyGoa will announce their worldwide campaign to promote Goan Culture and Culinary Art on this occasion. WAGOA will plan to organize a week long Goa Festivals at different venues all over the world during the year with the support of the Goan Associations of the respective country. Folklore and Culinary experts from Goa will be traveling all over the world with the WAGOA representatives for this promotion. With the assistance of Goan Associations abroad this Goa Festivals will be organized. Tony Colaco, General Secretary of the WAGOA and the President of the Goan Association, Sydney (Australia) said in a press release, “ We have accepted the challenge to put this event together in a short time despite the logistics of time differences and distance.†He added the commitment, dedication and flair of the organizing team comprising of Antonio Mascarenhas (Canada) Benito D’Souza (UK), Rene Bareto (UK) and Vivian D’Souza (USA) is a testament of what non-resident goans can do if they are all united and rowing in the same direction.†WAGOA has appealed all the goans (resident and NRG) to attend this event to celebrate solidarity, heritage and rich tradition and culture of Goa.
