Whilst launching the Global Goans website I extend my greetings and good wishes to all Goans and persons of Goan origin wherever they may be.  The website now being set up is intended to be a channel of communication between this Office and the entire Goan Diaspora so that we understand your concerns and find satisfactory solutions.  It is expected to be comprehensive and we do look forward to your suggestions for further improvement.

The Office of the Commissioner for NRI Affairs was created by the Government of Goa about six months ago.  We function with the staff of just three officers.  Yet, their dedication and commitment have already achieved some significant results for the benefit of our people across the world. 

I have written to our Ambassadors and High Commissioners abroad and requested them to send us information about non resident Goans and persons of Goan origin in the countries to which they are accredited.  They may not be able to provide complete information in every case.  I therefore request all of you to kindly register yourselves at this site.

The next Global Goans Convention is scheduled to be held at Panaji during the first week of January, 2007.  It will provide a platform for interaction of NRGs and PGOs with our Chief Minister and Ministers as well as with some of our Ambassadors abroad and with Ambassadors of foreign countries accredited to India .  I invite you all to attend and participate in this important event.
