With much sorrow we announce the passing away of Anthony Francis Miranda - peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Wednesday, January 5th, 2011. 

Loving husband to Rosy Miranda (nee Fernandes) Loving father of Sandra Fernandes and Domenica Franklin.
Father-in-law to James Fernandes and Mario Franklin. Devoted Grandfather to Stacey, Jillian and Jesse Fernandes. Son of Late Jacinto & Deudita Miranda, Brother to Ignatius, Joseph, Rita and the Late Peter, Manuel & Philomena. Brother-in-law to Philo, Domtilla, Agnelo, Joseph & Eliza. 
Cousin to Francis Miranda(Austr), Tony Miranda, Philo, Paskin and Connie Fernandes.

Anthony was born in Zanzibar on Dec 4, 1937 and moved to Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Migrated to Toronto in 1988. He dedicated his life to caring for his family and serving his Parish church, as well as the Goan community.

Anthony’s 35 year career was primarily in the Banking Industry.  He worked for the National Bank of Commerce in Dar es Salaam and CIBC in Toronto.
He was an active committee member for the Dar es Salaam Institute; Catholic Youth Club (CYC) and the St. Joseph Church Parish Council, Dar es Salaam. Anthony was an avid sportsman and played field hockey for a number of years in Tanzania.

He will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to give a helping hand to anyone in need.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
